We are looking for people from all walks of life. Applicants need to be
a resident of Hopkins County. To be eligible, you must complete an
application, be 18 years of age, possess a valid driver's license and
not have a felony conviction.
When will all this happen?
The academy will run 10 weeks beginning March 2nd and will be
held each Tuesday thereafter with
a graduation date of May 4th.
Classes are scheduled from 6:00 pm to 8:30 pm with a dinner from
6:00 pm to 6:30 pm.
What does this entail?
The course syllabus includes instruction, facilitation and
scenario-based training on various aspects of law enforcement.
Participants will find this an enjoyable opportunity to learn a
few things new and to network with other community members.
Topics will
include: Traffic Stops
Crime Scene Investigations
Domestic Violence
Firearms
Drug Investigations
Graduation Students will also have the opportunity to ride with an on duty officer from the participating agency.
